A 23 Year old youth, Zahoor Ahmed Haji, a resident of Brari Angan in South Kashmir’s Islamabad District has joined Militants.

Zahoor was studying in a Darul uloom in Pinjoora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian District, family sources told The Kashmiriyat.

“He left home on Tuesday to visit his relatives in Fatehpora area of Islamabad and has been missing since then,” a local of Brariangan told The Kashmiriyat.

The Family has said that they have filed a complaint in the Police station.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat the Police officials confirmed that a missing report has been filed by the family.

Zahoor is survived by an old age father and a mother and his brother who works for the Indian Army.

Brari angan is one of the worst hit areas in the violence that has hit the Kashmir valley after the eruption of armed insurgency in 1988.

Apart from 7 people from here who were killed in a peaceful protest on 4 April, 2000, the area has seen at least 5-7 youth joining Militancy in early 90’s.

Officials in the Army said that they are confirming whether the said youth has joined Militancy or not.
