No Vote Polled in Brath Kalan, 02 in Hajin, Stone Throwing Continues in Palhallan

As North Kashmir wore a festive mood when long queues of voters were seen during first phase of polling in Baramulla, Several areas including Hajin, Sopore and many others witnessed poll boycott.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that clashes between Government Forces erupted in Palhalan area of North Kashmir as hundreds of youth hurled stones on polling stations, the clashes were going on till this report was filed.

In Hajin township of Bandipora, Sources said, Out of 1800 votes, only 02 votes were polled in 03 polling stations, while in Sopore’s Brath Kalan which a home to 6 Local Militants, no vote was polled at all.

The situation turned volatile in Palhalan and areas of Sonawari belt when hundreds of youth shouting pro Independence slogans clashes with the Government Forces.

A lady was also injured in this stone pelting incident, in Pattan’s Palhalan an almost complete boycott is being witnessed. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that So far 84 votes have been polled in 4 polling booths with total electorate of 3979 till 3 PM.

The overall voting percentage in the first phase of Lok Sabha polls 2019 in North Kashmir was recorded a total of 27 percent  polling while the state over all witnessed a polling of 46 per cent till 11 am.
