Police Arrests Thief, Recovers 40 Lakh and Stolen Jewellery from Srinagar

Acting on a tip-off, Jammu Kashmir Police in Srinagar arrested a thief from Srinagar area and recovered stolen jewellery worth Rupees Fourty Lakh on Saturday.

The accused were identifed as Bilal Ahmed, native of Pulwama, said Srinagar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Haseeb Mughal while interacting with media persons.

SSP  claimed that after arrest of the accused, police have solved many theft cases reported at several places. Several cases against the accused were already registered in the police stations of Srinagar.

He further said that Police received a tip off about the accused person roaming around in the srinagar area with an intent to commit crime.

Acting on this, a team led by senior sub-inspector was formed and they began search operation against the accused.

Police arrested the acussed & Based on interrogation, police recovered stolen items like gold Jewellery, LCDs and other items from their possession. Later police has given all this stolen items to their owners.
