Police Book Kashmiri Journalist Under Militancy case

A Kashmir based journalist Asif Sultan who works for Kashmir Narrator and has been under Police custody for the past six days has been booked in a Militancy case.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the journalist was arrested from his home during a nocturnal raid and his phone, laptop were also siezed by Jammu Kashmir Police.

They said that Police barged into his room and frisked everything in his room.

Police has told media that Asif has been formally arrested in recent incidents that took place in Batamaloo area of Srinagar.

He was initially questioned for a cover story that he had written for a Srinagar based monthly magazine, Kashmir narrator. The story was on Burhan Wani, the popular Hizb Commander killed on July 08, 2016.

Asif is an assistant editor with monthly magazine Kashmir Narrator.
