Posters of Burhan Surface in Various Areas- Mobile Internet Snapped as Valley Shuts Down to Remember Wani

A complete shutdown is being observed throughout the Kashmir valley on Monday to mourn the killing of Burhan Wani on his third death anniversary.

Policemen are manning the streets across the major towns of the valley, including Srinagar, Pulwama, Budgam, Islamabad (Anantnag), Kulgam and Tral amid a complete shutdown.

The posters of Burhan wani have surfaced in villages across South Kashmir along with photos of many other Militants who have been killed since 08 July 2016, asking people to “remember the martyrs.”

Educational Institutes are shut throughout the valley, the roads are wearing a deserted look with rare traffic movement anywhere, the authorities have snapped mobile internet services down in four districts of South Kashmir.

Mobile internet speed has been reduced elsewhere in the valley.

The Killing of Burhan Wani in a gunfight on July 08, 2016 with Government Forces triggered a massive uprising and a series of protests which continued for nearly five months.

At least 105 youth were killed, while thousands were injured, many were blinded too as Government Forces continued the brutal usage of pellets throughout the five month long protests.
