Firing Continues at Tral Encounter Site- Authorities Shut Schools, Suspend Trains and Mobile Internet

As the news of the killing of Zakir Musa has spread, valley wide protests have erupted in almost whole of the valley, with authorities immediately barring the mobile internet services down in South Kashmir.

A Police told The Kashmiriyat that the firing at the encounter site is still on and no dead body has been recovered from the site of the encounter confirming that 42 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and 180 BN of CRPF had raided the area following inputs about the presence of Zakir Musa in the area.

He said that as soon as the forces arrived at the spot, the forces were fired upon by Zakir Musa’s men triggering an encounter. He added that in the initial exchange of gunfire, one Militant has been killed.

He, however, refused to identify the slain Militant, Sources however said that Zakir Musa was killed in the initial exchange of gunfire, a few minutes ahead of Iftaar (breaking his fast).

Sources said that Mudasir Ahmed Guhnoo, the owner of the house in which the Militants have been trapped has also been taken into detention.

An Official told The Kashmiriyat that it was after more than eight months that they received an input about Zakir Musa’s presence anywhere.

As soon as the news of Musa being killed in the encounter spread, protests erupted in various parts of the Kashmir valley, the authorities suspended Mobile internet services and also ordered the closure of train services and educational institutes for tomorrow.
