Residents of Islamabad (Anantnag) Villages Complain of Frequent Power Cuts

The residents of Palpora, Ara koshipora, Damhaal And Hakura area of south Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district have complained of frequent power cuts in the areas.

The residents while speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that the Power Development Department (PDD) has failed to provide adequate electricity their area as the Department (PDD) is subjecting them to unscheduled power cuts.

Locals said that due to the unscheduled power cuts in the area, the people are being forced to take to streets. “The authorities assured us to redress our grievance but the promises done by the authorities proved hoax,” a resident told The Kashmiriyat,

He said that the residents are having a really tough time as they are facing immense hardships due to ‘Hide And Seek’ of electricity in their area.

Threatening to stage protests against PDD department, the residents said, “If the unnecessary power cuts won’t end, we will took onto the roads.”

The Kashmiriyat contacted concerned AEE PDD, Fayaz Ahmad Shah who said that due to overload the area is witnessing frequent power cuts.  “For few hours in the day we have to cut down the power supply in a day and the electricity  supply is being cut off as per schedule.”
