Lately some social Media users have been praising the Jammu Kashmir Sports council for its enthusiastic work to develop sports in Jammu Kashmir. The Sports council members have been very active on social Media, perhaps more than on the ground, they are active on Social Media sites.
The Council recently had asked students from various parts of the valley to reach Srinagar for participating in matches, however upon reaching the stadium, the students came to know that they were misled by the Sports Council.
Moreover there have been accusation of Frauds and scams by the department in the name of keeping youth away from violence.
Mohammed Amin Bhat, the congress MLA for Devsar alleged that appointments in J&K Khadi Village and Industries Board (KVIB), J&K Sports Council and other public sector undertakings and autonomous bodies are a cause of concern and deserve immediate and knee deep investigation.
A Status released by a daily newspaper revealed that 60 persons were appointed in over 1 decade without advertising any post.
The residents of Ishber, Shalimar in Srinagar today held a protest against the Sports Council, Demanding a play ground in the area, women and men shouted slogans against the Council.
“The Sports council has not been resolving our problems, they advertise events, if they skip advertisements for a month, our playground issue will be resolved in that much amount,” a protestor told The Kashmiriyat.
