A Civilian Uprising that unfolded in Kashmir valley after the killing of Burhan Wani on 08 July 2016 took Kashmiri intelligentsia by storm. The magnanimous anger that poured on the Kashmir streets was simply 'unmanageable'  and could be managed only after 102 civilians had been killed. Another South Kashmir Youth Joins Militancy

July 13 Despite repeated verbal attempts of the Director General of Jammu Kashmir Police, SP vaid, Militancy is showing no signs of declination. In fact the Army General of India has been constantly asking the local Kashmiri youth to give up arms and asking people to keep their wards away from militancy. July 11 Another Youth from South Kashmir has joined Militant ranks making him one of the at least hundred youth to have joined Militant ranks this year. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Jahangeer Ahmed Wani, a resident of Ameerabad Tral area in Pulwama has joined Militant outfit, Hizb ul Mujahideen. The 23 year old, a 12th class pass out was missing from his home in Ameerabad Tral area of Pulwama. July 08 Restrictions have been imposed in most of the towns in the Kashmir valley on Saturday ahead of second anniversary of Burhan Wani. From Kulgam Mohammed Ashraf Ganie reported that thousands of women and men are seen flocking the houses of the three slain youth who were killed in Army firing yesterday. He said that despite strict restrictions, a large number of people are visiting the Redwani area to pay their tributes to the slain youth. July 03 60 Civilians have been killed in Kashmir in the first six months of 2018, as per figures available to The Kashmiriyat. 105 Militants Killed So Far in 2018

July 02 As of 30 June 2018, a total of 105 militants and 21 Government Force personnel have been killed in Kashmir this year, as per figures available to The Kashmiriyat. A unilateral ceasefire was declared by the Indian Government on 14 May when the Government forces were asked not to launch operations during Ramadan, during that month 24 Militants were killed. The Centre soon announced the resumption of intelligence-based cordon-and-search-operations in the state on June 17, 2018. Women Commandos Prepared to Deal with Stone Throwers

June 30 Stone throwing incidents have been on rise in the Kashmir valley post the Ramadan ceasefire which saw a drop in the number of stone pelting incidents. To tackle the situation, The Central Reserve Police Force has prepared a team of Women troopers to deal with stone throwers after it has been found that women are actively participating in Stone throwing. The team has been provided the special training of fixing weapons in less than a minute, fighting blindfold and tackling the enemy during the night. Other than this the women teams have been taught special skills to deal with stone pelting crowds especially women and they are expected to soon function in the Kashmir valley. (The Kashmiriyat)
