August 28 The Government Forces on Sunday night allegedly barged into the house of Burhan Ahmed Ganie at S.K Colony in Islamabad (Anantnag) township and ransacked the household items. A family member while speaking to The Kashmiriyat alleged that late night on Sunday, the troops barged into the house of Burhan Ganie, at S.K Colony and searched the house till 2:30 am, only after they broke the household items and ransacked the property. Forces Vandalize the house of a Militant in Quimoh

August 28 The Government Forces allegedly ransacked the house of a Militant Parvez Ahmed Bhat in Quimoh belt of South Kashmir's Kulgam in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. A Family member while speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that forces barged into the house and ransacked the household items and smashed the glasses inside the house. 15 Boys Left Militancy, South Kashmir Limping back to Normalcy, Says IGP

August 27 The Inspector General of Police SP Pani on Monday said that over 15 boys from South Kashmir have shun the path of militancy from past couple of months with the active role and support of their family members. He said police will help those youth in every possible way who want to join mainstream. “The graph of violence has come down drastically in some of the militancy affected areas of South Kashmir,” Pani told news agency CNS. “Yesterday, four youth were arrested in frontier district Kupwara when they were trying to ex-filtrate. We are questioning them and hopefully after counseling they will be rehabilitated,” he said. After Report on Kashmir, Al Jazeera may soon Disappear from Indian TVs

August 26 Al Jazeera, the international News Channel has landed into trouble likely after post it telecasted a report on the situation in Jammu Kashmir which many believe has upset the Indian Security Agencies. The Channel may soon have to stop broadcasting throughout India as the Indian Home Ministry has withdrawn the security clearance given to the Doha based English news channel. "The decision of clearance of broadcasting has to be issued or rejected by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, our role is limited to security," Times of India quoted an official from Indian Home Ministry as having said. The Official has also told the newspaper that Al Jazeera has appealed the Government to not stop the broadcasting of the news Channel. (The Kashmiriyat)  

Massive Clashes Erupt During CASO in Pulwama Area

August 26 Following a specific input about Militant movement, the Government Forces jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Maczpuna area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Late afternoon on Sunday, the forces including 55 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Maczpuna area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Pulwama locality and are conducting a search operation in the area. 131 Youth Have Joined Militancy till July 31, Zakir Musa Gaining ground in Kashmir

August 26 Nearly 130 Youths from Jammu Kashmir have been recruited into Militancy this year, the highest since 2010, officials said here. According to figures available to The Kashmiriyat till July 31, nearly 131 youths have joined various Militant outfits with South Kashmir's Shopian district contributing the maximum of 35 so far. The number of local recruits in 2017 was 126, this despite at least 220 Militants being killed the last year. As per a report, many youngsters are joining the Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, a group which claims support of Al-Qaeda and is headed by Zakir Rashid Bhat alias Musa, who is an engineer from Noorpora in the Tral area of South Kashmir's Pulwama district. August 24 The Government Forces on Friday jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the the Moolu Chitragam area of South Kashmir's Shopian District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the forces including 44 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Moolu Chitragam area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Moolu Chitragam locality and are conducting a search operation in the area.
