Thousands attend the Funeral of MBA Student Turned Militant

Amid sobs and high pitch sloganeering, thousands of women and men on Friday gathered at Koil area of Pulwama in this South Kashmir district to attend the funeral of slain Militant Ishaq Ahmed Wani who was killed in an encounter with Government Forces on Friday Morning.

Participants told The Kashmiriyat that gloom descended over the Koil area as soon as the body of his MBA Graduate reached his family early on Thursday as the whole area burst into wailing and mourning.

His body was next shouldered to nearby ground where thousands had gathered already to participate in his last rites, Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat.

They said that emotional scenes were witnessed as the slain Militant was laid to rest in his native area in Koil area after four rounds of funeral prayers.

People from as far as Islamabad (Anantnag) District thronged the Koil area to participate in his funeral prayers.

Ishfaq, a meritorious student was initially a student of Alamdar Public school at Koil, then he choose a science stream and completed his BSC from Government degree college Pulwama and later opted for Masters in Business administration.

After completing his MBA in year 2015, he joined  ICICI Bank however left it after one year and started fruit business with which he was associated before he left.

The 25 year old, a post graduate in Business Administration was as a fruit businessman associated before he went missing in July and joined the Militant outfit Lashkar e Taiba.
