Two Days After Kashmiri Pandit, Hindu Driver from Jammu Allegedly Thrashed by Security Forces in Kashmir

Subash Chander son of Premnath, a truck driver who is a resident of Dansaal area in Jammu alleged that he was rounded by Forces at Titanic view Point near Jawahar Tunnel on Kashmir highway that connects Jammu with Srinagar.

Subash alleged that he was on way to Srinagar from Jammu driving his truck number JK12 2404 when he was intercepted by a group of Government Forces near the titanic view point where CRPF is stationed in a camp.

He said that a convoy of CRPF was passing through the area when a CRPF man allegedly asked him to park his vehicle in the side. “After the convoy passed, the CRPF man started thrashing me without any provocation.”

Subash said that he tried to make reason with the CRPF men, however they continued thrashing him. “I even told them, my brothers are also working for Government Forces, however they continued thrashing me without any reason, constantly for many minutes with sticks.”

A Police official upon being contacted by The Kashmiriyat said that Police has received a complaint in this regard and are investigating the matter.

The incident comes two days after a Kashmiri pandit was thrashed by security forces in Levdoora area of Qazigund in the Kashmir valley.
