Two Militants Killed in Sopore Encounter

Two Militants have been killed in the encounter that raged between militants and Government forces at Usman Mohallah area of Warpora area of Sopore in  North Kashmir’s Baramulla District on Thursday.

Officials told The Kashmiriyat that 22 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about Militant presence in the area laid a cordon and search operation in the area.

The cordon continued for nearly an hour, during which the hiding Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter on Thursday.

Officials told The Kashmiriyat that the operation was put at halt due to darkness on Thursday night.

The operation resumed on Friday morning and two Militants were gunned down.

Jammu Kashmir Police officials confirmed the killing of two Militants to The Kashmiriyat while asking locals to stay away from the encounter site.
