Two SPOs Go Missing With Service Rifles from Kashmir’s Pulwama

Two Special Police officers (SPO) of Jammu Kashmir Police have went missing from the District Police Lines in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday noon where they were posted.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that two SPOs Shabir Ahmad Resident of Tujan area in Pulwama Pulwama and Salman Ahmad, a resident of Athmulla in Shopian decamped with their services rifles from District Police Lines Pulwama.

A Police official upon being contacted feigned ignorance about the incident and the SSP of Jammu Kashmir Police for Pulwama did not receive calls from media persons to confirm the incident.

In September last year, a special police officer (SPO) deputed with a PDP MLA had run away with seven rifles and a pistol from the MLA’s official residence in Srinagar

Many SPOS, Army men and Policemen have decamped with their service rifles since the revival of Local Militancy from July 2016, most of them killed.
