April 22

Appealing the Jammu Kashmir Bank to allow them, if they are late to the exams, hundreds of aspirants appearing for PO examination of Jammu Kashmir Bank on Monday said that army stopped their vehicles on the highway to ensure the safe passage of their convoy vehicles.

“They stopped our vehicles for nearly two hour on the National Highway, resulting in inordinate delay to reach examination centers, We had left home around 6:30 am for examination centers in Srinagar, it  normally taken two hours to reach the venues but we have been stopped on the road by the army to allow convoys,” Peer Owais, an aspirant  from Islamabad (anantnag)  district told The Kashmiriyat.

If they have already banned us from moving on the national Highway twice a week, why must they stop us on other days too, Owais asked.

“Our examination centers are interior of Srinagar city and the exams start by 12, we are still here, stuck near Bijbehara, if we are late to the exams, we appeal the JKB authorites to allow us to sit in and write the exams,” Owais appealed saying that a large group of students is travelling together from Islamabad (anantnag) district.

The Government of India imposed a ban on civilian vehicle movement when the Government Force personnel convoy moves along the strategic highway connecting Jammu with Srinagar, shortly after this, the Indian Government imposed a two day complete ban on the movement of civilian vehicles, saying the decision was taken to ensure the safe passage of Convoy which moves on Sundays and Wednesdays.
