Youth Killed In Army firing at Trehgam

A civilian has been shot dead during the clashes in Trehgam area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara District on Wednesday.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a civilian identified as Khalid Gaffar was shot by government forces as clashes erupted in Trehgam area.

Khalid who is a 22 year old youth had received multiple bullet wounds including one on his neck.

Clashes had erupted between Government Forces and civilians in the Trehgam area on Wednesday night.

An Army official speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that a cavalcade of Indian Army had come under attack from stone throwers and they had to fire in self defence.

Khalid is the fifth civilian to be killed in a span of less than five days, earlier three civilians were killed in Kulgam on Saturday, one in Shopian on Tuesday.
