14-Year-Old Boy Likely Among Militants Trapped in Shopian Encounter

The 14-year-old boy, Faisal Gulzar who went missing a few days ago in the Chitragam Kalan area of Shopian is likely among the three Militants trapped at the site of the encounter in the Shopian district of South Kashmir.

The family members of Faisal speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that Faisal called home informing that he has been trapped in the orchards of Satrajan in Shopian and is engaged in an encounter with Joint Forces. “he has said that he is trapped at the site of the encounter along with two others,” Faisal told his family, according to the family member.

The family member pleaded that Faisal should be given a chance, “He just went missing two days ago, and it is hard for us to believe that he has been trapped,”  the family member said amid loud sounds of wailing and mourning women in the background.

The father of Faisal speaking to The Kashmiriyat appealed to him to return back to his family.

“All family members will die, he is our backbone and hope, His jihad is to stay at home and serve the family members, ” he said as tears rolled down from his eyes.

Top sources meanwhile informed The Kashmiriyat that Asif Ahmed Ganie, a resident of Chitragam Kalan in Shopian, a commander of Al Badr Militant outfit is also trapped at the site of the encounter which is being jointly conducted by 34 Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF, adding that, the three have been injured during the Forces’ firing.

They said that Rameez’s family will be taken to the site of the encounter to persuade him to surrender.

The encounter began in open orchards when Joint forces following inputs about the Militant movement launched a Cordon and search operation in the Hatipora, during which a clash took place.

Internet services have been snapped in the Shopian district, where a mild stone-throwing has begun around the site of the encounter.
