Around 15 shops were gutted in a midnight blaze in Khari market of Banihal tehsil in Ramban district.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat around fifteen shops were gutted in a fire that mysteriously engulfed the main market in Khari.
As soon as the flames were spotted by the locals, the Jammu Kashmir Police and fire tenders were called, who rushed to the spot.
Before the fire tenders could douse off the flames, the shops were damaged, most of them substantially.
An official speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that there was no loss of life or injury to anyone during the incident.
He said that the cause of the fire was being ascertained.
