Officials in the Srinagar district of central Kashmir have listed a total of 6926 patches of land registered under separate Kharsa numbers with the revenue Department of Jammu Kashmir as state land – out of them 6426 patches of state land have been encroached, while 503 patches of land are lying vacant.

Documents accessed by The Kashmiriyat show that a total of 1,65, 182 Kanals (20647.7478) of land across seven tehsils of Srinagar have been marked as state land under various categories including Banjar e Qadeem, Khul, Maliyari, Gair Mumkin, Maidani, Bathoo among others.

The Jammu Kashmir admin has launched a massive drive to evict state land from the “encroachers” across Jammu Kashmir and ordered the district magistrates to ensure one hundred percent clearance of land falling under various categories of state land in their respective districts by January 31.

In central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, the revenue department of Jammu Kashmir on Thursday “retrieved” 718 kanals of state land.

An official told The Kashmiriyat that on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir a joint team of Revenue, and Police departments led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Mehraj-ud-Din Shah today retrieved 718 kanals of State and Kahcharai land in various tehsils of the district.

During the ongoing eviction drive, Ganderbal’s district administration has retrieved 11600 Kanal of State land across the district as of today in the central Kashmir district.

According to documents accessed by The Kashmiriyat, Central Shalteng has around 22, 515 Kanal of land that fall under various categories of state land.

Out of them, Batamaloo has 2375 Kanals 10 marla of state land, Zainakote 4756 Kanal 15 Marla, Maloora 1353 Kanal 19 marla, Panzinara 701 K 13 M, Rambirgarh/ Pratapgarh 1321 K 13 , Rampora 299 K 19 m, Khushipora 1618, Qamarwari 152 K 14 M, Arampora 22 K, Lawaypora 160 Kanal 2 Marla, Gund Hassi Bhat 281 K 10 M, Mujgund 812 K 1 M, Barthanan 414 K 5 M, Parimpora 838 K 18 M, Rakh e Gund Aksha 16934 K 17 M, Bagjinind Singh 157 K 11 M, Chwani Badam Singh 322 K 2 M.

Chanpora/ Natipora Tehsil has a total of over 1453 Kanal of state land, as per the documents accessed by The Kashmiriyat.

In Hyderpora 62 K 16 M are state land, as per the Revenue Department , Nowgam 66 K 11 M, Bagh e Mehtab Joo 94 K 18 M, Natipora/ Mehjoor Nagar 290 K 19 M, Bhagat/ Barzulla 6 M, Rawalpora 932 K 03 M, Lolu Sheshgari Bagh 2 K 10 M, Nadirgund 07 K 18 M.

The documents prepared by the teams of Revenue Department that has been granted the task of clearing the “encroachments” from the state land has marked 24,693 Kanals of land as state land in Pathachowk.

Area wise details show Zewan has 562 K 6 M of state land. Zawoora 1543 K, Ichnambal 147 K 9 M, Pandrethan 2242 K 3 M, Badamibagh 1486 K 14 M, Balhama 151 K 16 M, Panthachowk 7049 K 10 M, Khunmoh 9507 K 4 M, Sempora 296 K 4 M, Lasjan 993 K 6 M, Soitengoo 717 K 11 M.

Northern Srinagar tehsil, as mentioned in the document has over of 31, 731 Kanal of land marked as state land.

Area wise breakdown shows Gulab Bagh with 141 K 15 M of state land,  Syedpora Hamchi 10 K 17 M, Zakoora 446 K 1 M, Rakh e Zakoora 103 K 13 M, Pazwalpora 6 K 15 M, Bagh e Chandpora 1 K 8 M, Khimber 397 K, Ahal 308 K 6 M, Chatterhama 446 K 8 M, Takiya Sang Reshi 556 K 3 M, Habbak Khushki 1003 K 16 M, Gupt e Ganga 979 K, Banigam 936 K 11 M, Tailbal 339 K 5 M, Dara 1423 K 6 M, Saderbal 52 K 18 M, Wanihama Payeen 19 K 7 M, Gasoo 4 K 2 M, Tailbal 339 K 5 M, Haripora Hariwan 2152 K 6 M, Batpora 25 K 5 M, Harwan 1462 K 12 M, Habbak Shanpora 4186 K, Danihama 265 K 4 M, Syedpora Bala 362 K 17 M, Faqir Gojri 916 K 2 M, Inderhama 1 k 4 M, Murinderbagh 341 K 3 M, Burzhama 127 K 17 M, Gawmarg 18 K 15 M, Nandpora 13,316 K 9 M, Shalimar 858 K  3 M, Chandpora 194 K 7 M.

The Khanyar Tehsil that covers many areas of the central city, officials say, has 24,040 Kanal of land falling under various categories of state land.

Here in Khanyar, Brein has 1970 kanal 13 M under the category state land. SR Gunj 214 K 1 M, Nishat 1336 K 3 M, Noopora 1176 K 12 M, Lam 2942 K 14 M, Khanyar 388 K 5 M, Buchwara 503 K 3 M, Abikarpora 2270 K 12 M, Abi Nowpora 294 K 12 M, Nowhatta 1011 K  3 M, Sangeen Darwaz 2437 K 16 M, Brari Nambal 554 K 12, Rainawari 178 K 16 M, Bagh e Hussain 24 K 11 M, Zeeth yaar 1213 K 2 M, Gupkar 943 K 6 M, Cheshmashahi 420 K 8 M, Barbagh 368 K 19, Asthal 3252 K 7 M, Theed 2547 K 10.

Eid Gah tehsil has at least 44006 Kanals of land falling under the category of state land, as per the document accessed by The Kahsmiriyat.
