19-year-old Muslim youth’s body found on Asansol station with multiple wounds; Family says he was lynched

A 19-year-old Muslim was found dead under mysterious circumstances near the Asonsol station in West Bengal on January 08.

Alleging lynching, his family quoted by several reports, said that Ubaidullah (19), a student of Nadwa College was traveling to his home in Dhanabad (Jharkhand) from Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh).

Ubaidullah (19), a student of Nadwa College, Lucknow, was going to his home from Lucknow to Dhanbad on Jan 8, was found dead under suspicious circumstances at the Asansol station, with multiple wounds on his body. His father has alleged that he was lynched.

A resident of Dhanbad, his dead body was found with multiple wounds at the Asansol railway station.

Earlier, a Muslim man was assaulted in the Dhanbad area of Jharkhand and forced to chant “Jai Shri Ram” by a group of BJP workers who were protesting on Friday near the city centre against the alleged security breach in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security in Punjab.

The videos of the incident that went viral over social media show a group, including a woman, thrashing and abusing the man.

“Dhanbad DC should probe the incident and revert with action taken report. There is no space for animosity in the state where people love to live in peace,” the CM said in a tweet, in response to a Twitter post on the incident.
