The Himalayan State of Jammu Kashmir which has been the reason of three wars between two Asian Superpowers India and Pakistan may again witness a Bloody year.
Till the second day of April, 2018, 58 Militants have been killed in various anti Militancy operations which includes Local as well as foreign Militants, Officials told The Kashmiriyat.
The List of causalities also includes 16 Civilians, most shot dead while throwing Stones on Government Forces.
Despite several warnings, the Protesters have thronged the Encounter sites resulting in injuries and causalities.
Though the Indian Government Forces have been killing Militants at a very fast pace, but youth have been strengthening the Militant Numbers since the Killing of Burhan Wani on 08 July, 2016.
Stats reveal that 206 Militants were killed the last year and the number of active Militants by the beginning of 2017 was 220, however this year the numbers have gone up to 230, this despite the huge number of killings in 2017.
In the past few weeks more youth are seen joining the Militant ranks, which include the son of prominent Hurriyat leader, Ashraf Sehrai and the son of a Local Police constable.
The Confinement of Hurriyat is also being held responsible for the growing Militancy and many Political analysts believe that Hurriyat is being set free to tackle Militancy, however Hurriyat is unconscious of the same.
Political Analysts have said the lack of political will from the Indian side is leading to an escalation of numbers joining the protests to disrupt the Anti Militancy Operations of Indian Army.
Though the Indian State has initiated a dialogue process, many political activists have claimed that the dialogue is merely eyewash as India continues the unabated arrests and forceful Anti Militancy operations.
In January 2018, 18 Militants have been killed while in February 4 Militants were killed and in March 23 Militants were killed, on the first day of April, 13 Militants were shot dead in encounters with Government Forces.
Unofficial figures reveal that 98,000 people have been killed since 1988 when an Armed Insurgency began against Indian rule.
India and Pakistan both claim the region in totality.
