Administration to Augment Delina Power grid in Baramulla, Kupwara Districts

The augmentation of the capacity of power grid station at Delina in Baramulla will be completed by this month end. This in turn will signicantly enhance the power supply position to Baramulla and Kupwara districts and bring relief to the people of the two districts. With this augmentation, the capacity of Delina Grid Station would double from the existing 160 MVA to 320 MVA. This was decided in a review meeting chaired by Rohit Kansal, Principal Secretary to Government, and Power Development Department (PDD) at Kupwara. Army Man Dies of Heart Attack in Shopian

Meer Irfan A Territorial Army (TA) soldier died due to a cardiac arrest in Zainapora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Saturday morning a soldier identified as Abdul Majeed who was on duty met a cardiac attack in the Zainapora area of Shopian. Majeed fell down unconscious after which his colleagues rushed him to the nearby hospital for treatment. He was declared as brought dead on arrival the hospital. Abdul Majeed was resident of Anantnag district and posted with 162 Territorial army. The Jammu Kashmir Police has launched an investigation in this regard.

Unknown Gunmen Fire at a Civilian in Pulwama

A civilian was fired upon by militants on Friday evening in Wassura area of South Kashmir's Pulwama district. A senior Police officer told GNS that a civilian namely Mushtaq Ahmad resident of Wassura was fired upon. The officer further said that the said person was shifted to nearby hospital for treatment. Mohammad Mufeez Two persons were injured in a road accident in Tral of South Kashmir's Pulwama district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that a scooty hit the fence on a road in Bajwani in Tral near ITI, resulting in injuries to two persons. The injured were identified as Abdul Khaliq of Ratsuna Tral and B. Singh from Tral. In Tulkhan area of Bijbehara in South Kashmir's Anantnag, a policeman was injured when his vehicle turned two days ago. The constable succumbed to his injuries on Friday. Official sources told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that an accident took place on December 09 at Tulkhan, Bijbehara when a WagonR car (JK14D-1905) driven by Head Constable Joginder Singh, son of Kulwant Singh from Udhampur turned turtle. The policeman was injured and was shifted to a nearby hospital where from he was referred to SKIMS Srinagar for advanced treatment, they said.
