Won’t Allow Mutton Dealers to Keep Public Hostage: Admin

Stating that the mutton dealers are misusing their monopoly, the divisional administration of Kashmir on Wednesday said that strict action will be taken against those who are keeping the general public hostage for their vested interests. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, PK Pole told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that three livestock trucks were seized in three districts of Kashmir including Shopian in South Kashmir, Budgam, and Srinagar in Central Kashmir. He added that the livestock truck in Shopian was auctioned while in Budgam and Srinagar, the auction will be done tomorrow. An encounter has started between militants and Government forces in the Kandipora area of Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday afternoon. Unidentified Male Body Found in Verinag Anantnag

Waris Shah The body of an unidentified man has been recovered in South kashmir Kapren Village of Verinag in Anantnag district on Wednesday afternoon. One in Every Three Women Have Witnessed Physical or Sexual Abuse, WHO

The U.N. health agency and its partners have found in a new study that nearly one in three women worldwide have experienced physical or sexual violence in their lifetimes. The report released Tuesday from the World Health Organization, based on what the agency called the largest-ever study of the prevalence of violence against women, also found such violence starts early. It says a quarter of young women who have been in a relationship were found to have experienced violence by an intimate partner by the time they reach their mid-20s. The figures, which track a period from 2010 to 2018, don't cover the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. CASO Launched by Joint Forces in Shopian Area

The Government Forces on Wednesday morning  launched Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the Watoo area of the Shopian district of South Kashmir. An official told The Kashmiriyat that a search operation has been launched jointly by forces including RR of the Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police, and CRPF in Watoo area of Shopian. All the entry and exit points of the area have been sealed on Wednesday morning, and a door-to-door search operation has begun, Locals told The Kashmiriyat. Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched as an Anti Militancy operation on May 2, 2017, amid a rise in the local recruitment into Militant groups in the Kashmir valley. The Forces jointly conduct search operations in a specific area, locking down the area virtually and frisk houses.
