Body of 50-Year-Old Man Retrieved After 3 Days From Jhelum

Three days after drowning into Kiti Koul in Kani Kadal area of Srinagar, the body of a 50-year-old man has been retrieved from river Jhelum on Monday evening. Official sources told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the body of a 50-year-old man was retrieved today by River police from Jehlum in Takanwari area of Noorbagh in Srinagar. They identified the deceased as Feroz Ahmad Raina, son of Late Abdul Aziz Raina of Zaindar Mohalla, Habba Kadal. Meanwhile, they said that the body will be handed over to the family after completing the legal formalities—(KNO)

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party has won a majority of seats in elections for the legislative assembly of Pakistan-administered Kashmir, preliminary results say. According to unofficial results released by the election commission, Khan’s PTI won 25 out of 45 seats in the polls held on Sunday. The opposition Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) won 10 seats, while the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) won six. Five residential houses and two sheds were damaged in a massive fire that erupted in congested area of Palpora locality of Noorbagh in Srinagar late last night. Official sources told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that fire broke out from a single storey residential house in Pamposh Colony of Palpora on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. They said that fire tenders were rushed to spot to douse off the flames, however, the fire had spread to nearby structures before it was brought under control.
