A Delhi court on Thursday dismissed the bail application of Kashmiri separatist leader Shabbir Shah in a money laundering case related to alleged terror funding in Kashmir, saying the prosecution couldn’t be blamed for delay on account of Covid-19. The army Friday deployed women soldiers at various checkpoints in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district in a bid to bridge the gap between locals and the forces. This is for the first time after North Kashmir’s Kupwara district, that the army has deployed women soldiers also known as Riffle-women in Ganderbal. Earlier, women soldiers were deployed at Kuwpara to check the infiltration of narco and weapon smuggling through women Over Ground Workers (OGWs). The villagers of Sogam in Chadoora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district here have staged a protest against the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department for failing to supply drinking water to them. Witnesses told that the protesting villagers claimed the department has failed to provide drinking water supply to the villagers from last one year. “We approached the authorities many times in this regard but they always dejected us,” the residents said while appealing to the higher ups to look into the matter and ensure that their demands are fulfilled at an earliest.
