Three residential houses damaged in fire incident in Chrar e Shareef

Fire broke out in the Kandajan area of Chrar e Shareef in central Kashmir's Budgam district causing damage to residential houses. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that on Wednesday afternoon, a fire broke out at a residential house in the central Kashmir area which later spread to the nearby houses. "Locals along with fire tenders tried to control the fire and stop it from spreading further, however, before the fire could be brought under control three houses has been damaged," they said. Two residential houses were gutted and another house received partial damage during the fire incident, they said. Police have taken cognizance of the incident.

Minor boy dies after falling in dam in Shopian village

A 6-year-old boy died after he fell in a dam behind his school in the Sedow area of south Kashmir's Shopian district on Tuesday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the boy, who is mentally unsound, fell into the dam during lunchtime. He said that soon after the incident the boy was rescued by locals and was taken to PHC Sedow where he was declared dead on arrival.
