Sopore man suffers cardiac arrest after returning from Hajj pilgrimage

A 70-year old man suffered a massive cardiac arrest in Sopore locality of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district soon after he returned from the Haj pilgrimage after which he was shifted to JVC hospital Bemina wherefrom he was taken to SKIMS Soura for advanced treatment. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a Ghulam Mohammed Gojree of Hygam Sopore suffered a massive cardiac arrest soon after he reached home after performing Hajj. He said that he was taken to JVC Bemina where doctors shifted him to SKIMS Soura. “There was a miscommunication about my father’s health at JVC Bemina. A leopard on Monday evening went berserk and injured at least twelve persons in Sallar village in Pahalgam area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district. Four militants killed in ongoing Poonch encounter

Four militants have been killed by the security forces in a joint operation in the Sindhara area of Poonch. An official told news agency Kashmir Scroll that the first engagement between security forces took place at around 11:30 pm yesterday after which drones were deployed along with other night surveillance equipment. At dawn today, the encounter started again with a heavy exchange of fire between the security forces and militants, he said. Indian Army’s Special Forces, Rashtriya Rifles and J&K Police troops along with other forces were part of the operation. The militants killed in the operation are most likely foreign and their identity is being ascertained, he said. Search operation is going on in the area, he said.(KS)

The State Investigation Agency (SIA) Kashmir is carrying out raids at different locations in three districts of south Kashmir, an official said on Tuesday. An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the SIA personnel, accompanied by police and the paramilitary CRPF, are carrying out raids at different locations in three districts “The searches are underway in Chakoora and Shirmal area of Shopian, Qaimoh area of Kulgam and main town Anantnag in South Kashmir,” he said.
