The encounter in the Shopian district that raged early on Friday morning has ended with the killing of one Militant, officials said Friday.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, an official had earlier said that on Friday morning Militants fired upon forces during a cordon and search operation in Rakhama area of Shopian.
During the exchange of gunfire, one Militant has been killed, he said.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the slain Militant has been identified as 23-year-old Mujeeb Lone son of Mohd Amin Lone resident of Redwani Bala area of Kulgam.
They said that Mujeeb was active since the 9th day of September, 2021.
