5 Militants Killed in Bandipora Encounter- Operation Still on

The Gunfight that raged in Shokbaba area of Sumlar in North Kashmir’s Bandipora District on Thursday has entered the 20th Hour.

Two Unidentified Militants were killed in the ongoing encounter on Thursday, however their identity is not know yet.

Three more Militants have been killed on Friday as per officials in the exchange of gunfire, but only two bodies have been recovered as of yet.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the forces including 14 RR of Indian Army, and Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Sumlar area on Thursday.

During the Cordon and Search operation the hiding Militants opened fire upon forces, triggering a gunfight.

In the ensuing gunfight, reinforcements were rushed to the spot and the troops laid a siege around the house in which militants were holed up.
