Divisional Commissioner Kashmir P K Pole on Thursday said that in view of respite in Covid-19 situation, Government of Saudi Arabia has allotted a Haj quota of around 6000, of which at least 5400 will be from Kashmir and remaining will be from Jammu and Ladakh regions.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) Pole said that all arrangements have been put in place for the Haj pilgrimage this year.

He added that all pilgrims would require a 72-hour RTPCR test report before departure and they would also require to come to at least 4.5 hours before scheduled time of the flight in order to go smoothly through various processes.

“The process of flight operations for Haj 2022 will start from June 05 and there would be around 2 to 3 flights a day which will continue for 15 days. And after the completion of pilgrimage, the return flight schedule will come into effect,” Pole added.

He said that Haj pilgrims coming from Jammu and Ladakh have to arrive three days before and necessary arrangements for food and accommodations have been made for them at Haj house.

In a response to a question over security arrangements of Amarnath Yatra, he said that arrangements for the Amarnath Yatra are being looked into by the administration, Police, CAPF and army for the last 30 years.

“The security arrangements are not only been taken care of for Amarnath Yatra but for Haj 2022 pilgrimage as well,” he said. (KNS)
