9-year-old Kashmiri boy from Tral wins silver in Martial Arts championship

In a remarkable achievement, a nine year old boy from Tral has won a silver medal in the Martial art championship in Kanyakumari.

Moeen-u-din Sofi (09) resident of Tral town who is a third class student at private school has already showcased his talent at national and international level.

Talking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) Moeen-u-din said that he was interested in martial arts since childhood and started learning different forms of martial arts a few years before.

He said that he has been working hard while his parents, despite having financial constraints, have been supporting me.

“I got enrolled in a local academy to learn martial arts and due to my hard work, I have so many medals at different stages so far,” he said.

“Recently I participated in a martial arts championship in Kanyakumari where I managed to secure a silver medal,” he said, adding that, winning any medal at any stage gives us more courage to work harder and prove our mettle wherever we get an opportunity.

“So far I have got the opportunity to showcase my talent at local, national and once at international level so far but my aim is to represent India at international level and win medals,” Moin added.

He requested the government to financially support him so that he can achieve his goals.

The primary class student said that parents must encourage their children and engage them in different games so as to keep them physically and mentally fit besides keeping them away from social evils—(KNO)
