An elderly man was injured in an attack by a bear on Friday in Khana Gund, Tral which is a district of Pulwama succumbed to his injuries in a hospital today in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.
The man was a 60 – year old who took his herd of cattle for grazing in the stretches that are uphill of Tral when the bear attacked him.
An official said following the attack that some people raised hue and cry and rescued him from the bear. However, by that time the victim had sustained serious face injuries.
The injured was later shifted to a hospital and treated for his injuries.
The deceased has now been identified as Abdul Gani Sheikh S/O Abdul Wahab who were residents of Khangund, Tral.
