A seven-year-old boy drowned to death on Tuesday afternoon in Chewa Ullar area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
An official speaking to The Kashmiriyat identified the deceased as Numaan Irshad, son of Irshad Ahmad age 7, a resident of Chewa Ullar village, who “accidentally fell into a local water pond”
He said that soon after the incident took place, the family and neighbors of the boy conducted rescue operation and removed him from the pond after which he was shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Tral, for treatment where doctors declared him brought dead.
A doctor posted in Sub district hospital Tral in Pulwama also confirmed the death of the minor boy to The Kashmiriyat.
Police has started further investigation in this incident.
