Living in a One – Room Tin Shed, Parveena Ayoub from Ganderbal Shines in 10th Exam

A very poor girl, living in tin shed, from a remote village in Ganderbal area of Central Kashmir has secured 97.8 percent marks in her matriculation exams.

Parveena Ayoub, daughter of a laborer Muhammad Ayoub from Kurhama village in Ganderbal secured 490 marks out of 500, securing Grade A1 despite of all hardships and struggles.

Parveena’s father, Ayoub, has to support a family of six including his four daughters and wife and the family lives in a single – room tin shed with minimum source of income.

Coming from a financially weak background, Parveena soared through all the hardships and with perseverance and efforts, she managed to secure good grades.

While talking to the media, Parveena said, “I am thankful to my parents who helped me secure this rank. It was only with their support that I managed to study well and secure good grades. We are financially weak, we live in a tin – shed, I feel proud of myself, I am proud of my parents. People are blessing me with appreciations and wishes, it makes my parents happy.”

Breaking down in tears, Parveena said, “In absence of any source of income, I couldn’t afford to go for private coaching or use internet. There was no option left for me other than going for self-study.”

Her father, Mohammad Ayoub said, “I am thankful to Allah for bestowing my daughter with success. I am thankful for her teachers who supported and showed her the righteous track of success.”

Parveena, initially desired to become a doctor, but the financial conditions of her family, and her father’s efforts to make ends meet, is not enough to suffice for her educational expenses.

“I request the administration and the government to please support me so that I can continue my studies,” she said.
