The alleged abduction of a Muslim girl from Rajouri has created fury among the Muslim Community in the district.
The 31-Year-old girl (name withheld) was allegedly abducted nearly a month ago when she was returning home from Jammu.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, the relatives of the girl claimed that they have filed a missing report in the police station, however, the accused are yet to be arrested.
The girl does not have a father and was in Jammu for KAS coaching, they said.
Azhar Mehmood, a cousin of the girl, while talking to The Kashmiriyat said that she was abducted by five boys near Chingar, Dalogra of Rajouri in a Bolero, while she was returning home from Jammu.
“Of the five accused, we have handed over four to the police, but they took no action and later released them,” alleged Mehmood.
The family has been doing rounds of the station for around one month. “All we have got is promises and hope that she is here or she is there,” he said.
Azhar said that the family was told that the girl has converted to Hinduism. “They sent us photos with Tika point on her forehead,” he told The Kashmiriyat.
Mehmood also said that the boy she allegedly is married to is himself affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsenak Sangh (RSS) and also runs a medical shop.
“Since we got no response from the police, we protested. They (police) told us to come to Pakadanga and when we reached there they said the girl has gone to an Ashram in Ambala,” Azhar said.
“We went to Ambala and there were 50 RSS goons around her providing her security.

They didn’t allow us to talk to her or meet her. She was clearly mentally tortured by them,” Azhar alleged.
“It is clearly the “Ghar Wapsi”(Back to Home) propaganda of RSS and Bajrang Dal that Muslims should convert into Hinduism, to come home,” alleged Mehmood.
He, further, said that the administration has given them time till Sunday and that the girl will be handed over to the family.
Some five days ago, a protest was held on Rajouri-Poonch National Highway demanding the girl to be handed over to their family and the accused be arrested.
However, the SSP Rajouri reached the spot and pacified the protesters. She promised the protesters full support. “We are investigating the case from all angles,” the SSP told.
The Kashmiriyat tried to get in touch with the Senior Superintendent of Police in Jammu, who was unavailable for comments over the incident.
