Kashmiri Pandits employed under various departments of the Government on Saturday demanded their transfer to Jammu and other safer areas from the Kashmir.
In a press release issued to The Kashmiriyat, the employees working under the 2010 PM Package have demanded that they be shifted to places outside Kashmir as they do not feel safe in the valley. “It is time to hear the voices on the ground,” the employees said.
With profound grief and anger, we PM package employees appointed for various supernumerary posts under CBM Policy in 2010 and onwards are still living as deported, unsettled, unsecured life, Now almost 12 years in a row. We PM package employees working in different departments across Kashmir are feeling much worried, tense, unsecured, frustrated and dismayed. We are feeling literally dismayed and damaged as this package provided us family separation and loss of precious lives, a bleak future, uncertainty, insecurity and moreover a life full of continuous visible threats, mess, worries, humiliation and miseries with no headway, the press release read.
“Through this inclusive press release, we would like to intimate the Hon’ble LG of UT (J&K) , Prime Minister of India -enough is enough now,” they stated.
“The Govt of India must accept in writing that this rehabilitation policy has completely failed. We request the Hon’ble LG, Prime Minister of India that it is the right time to, accept the ground reality and voice. We request if they are really serious about the rehabilitation policy it is the right time to initiate the first step towards rehabilitation of the minority community of Jammu Kashmir,” the press release added.
The Pandits have made two demands:
1) Repeal of unconstitutional bond (in free India) that PM package employees were forced to sign at the time of joining their services for their survival.
2) Relocation (as we are appointed on supernumerary posts) to the safest, unhazardous, terror-free places outside the Kashmir division.
