Kashmiri Journalist Fahad Shah who was granted bail by an NIA court in Pulwama on Saturday has been re-arrested by Jammu Kashmir Police.

The majesty of law has been upheld, the Special Court designated under the NIA act admitted @pzfahad to interim bail. The administration couldn’t dominate maliciously while the judiciary rescued him courageously. Thank you for the support from every corner and everyone, Fahad’s lawyer said on Saturday.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, Fahad’s cousin said that Fahad was released from Pulwama, but was immediately re-arrested by the Police in Shopian.

“We were expecting his release after the court granted him bail. We did not know that he would be re-arrested. His family had been awaiting his release,” a cousin of Fahad said.

Official Sources quoted by a local news agency- KDC said that Fahad Shah has been arrested in a case under FIR no 06-2021 registered at police station Imam Sahab in southern Shopian district.

In a tweet, the Jammu Kashmir Police said had earlier said that FIR No. 70/2020 of PS Safa Kadal Srinagar, FIR No. 06/2021 of PS Imam sahib, Shopian are registered against Fahad Shah and he has currently been arrested in FIR No. 19/2022 of Police Station Pulwama.

Pertinently the FIR in Imam Sahib Shopian was registered after The Kashmiriyat and Kashmir Walla ran a story of a Shopian school that alleged that they had been forced to celebrate republic day event inside the school.

The Kashmiriyat spoke to the concerned Police officials who feigned ignorance on the development.

The story will be updated if we hear from the Police officials.
