After the Gyanvapi mosque, the far right-wing is planning to move to the court laying claims over the historical Bada Imambara/ Imam Bargah in Lucknow district of India’s most populated state, Uttar Pradesh.
The Hindu-right wing is planning to lay its claims on Lucknow’s Imam Bargah, Asifi mosque and the Rumi gate which were built in the 18th century.
A priest who is accused in Jantar Mantar hate speech case, where genocidal slogans were raised against Muslims, has called for a survey of the mosque and said that like Gyanvapi they will file a petition to get back the property of Hindus which has been “occupied” by Muslims.
“We will move a petition seeking the survey of the Bara Imambara, Rumi Darwaza and thousands of acres occupied by Muslims around these two places. we will get the land back to Hindus, which has been forcibly snatched away from Hindus,” the priest is heard saying.
He further said that like a “Shivling was found in Gyanvapi”, they are sure that after a proper survey, it will be found that Hindus are the original owners of the land around the Bara Imambara in Lucknow.
The video was posted by Journalist, Alishan Jafri who wrote, “Far-right Hindu army claims that the historic Shia Imambada, Roomi gate and Asifi Mosque in Lucknow are ancient Hindu structures. He was arrested in August last year with BJP leader Ashwini Upadhyay for the Jantar Mantar hate speech. ”

Alishan further appealed the courts to stop the “madness.” The courts must stop this madness. They don’t understand what it means to the Shias. It’s like playing with fire. I have visited the Imambada every year since Childhood. Any attempt to touch the Imambada or change its structure would be resisted extremely strongly, he wrote.
The Bara imambara is a major heritage site in Lucknow and was built by the 4th nawab of Awadh Asaf u Dullah in 1784.
The historical monument is said to be the world’s largest structure that is unsupported by beams. Bara Imambara is considered a marvel of engineering and a fine specimen of Mughal architecture.
In the vicinity, religious centers like the Asifi Mosque, Shahi Bawali, Rumi Darwaja, etc there are also present for one to explore. The Bara Imambara has a unique style of construction and is also known as bhool Bhulaiya. Folktales say that there are 1024 ways to get inside to maze but only 2 to come out.
