After Manmohan Singh and Rahul Gandhi, Shashi Tharoor Tests Covid-19 positive

Lok Sabha member, MP for Thiruvananthapuram, Shashi Tharoor announced on Twitter that he has tested positive for Covid-19. Tharoor added that his 85-year old mother and his sister were on the same boat as well. He tweeted that he hopes to deal with Covid in a ‘positive frame of mind.

Earlier this week, the former Prime Minister and senior member of the Congress, Manmohan Singh was admitted to All India Institute for Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after testing positive for Covid-19. Union Health Minister, Dr. Harsh Vardhan followed up with the medical team attending Singh at AIIMS and confirmed in a tweet that Singh is stable.

“Followed up on Dr Manmohan Singh Ji’s health with the medical team attending to him at AIIMS, Delhi. His condition is stable. The best possible care is being provided to him. We all pray for his quick recovery,” he tweeted.

This news was followed by Rahul Gandhi’s being Covid-19 positive as well, after showing mild symptoms. Gandhi had recently called off all public rallies in West Bengal.

Tharoor added another tweet and confirmed that the family had taken the required doses of the vaccine.

“Folks should know that my sister has had two doses of the Pfizer vaccine in California and my mother & I took our second Covishield shot on April 8. So we have every reason to hope that though vaccines cannot prevent infection, they will moderate the impact of the #Covid virus,” Tharoor tweeted.
