After protests over a part of the syllabus of M.A political science, the Panjab University has decided to change the content that describes Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale as a “terrorist”.

Pertinently, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) had raised strong objections to the controversial language used about Bhindranwale.

“I came to know about the objectionable content. We will remove it and launch a probe into how it became part of the syllabus,” Satnam Singh Sandhu, head of Distance Education Department of Punjabi University, Patiala told The Indian Express.

The controversial reference to Bhindranwale is a part of my M.A in political science (distance mode).

The university has also formed a three-member committee to probe the same.
