Students of the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district staged a protest against the university administration for failing to provide an adequate water supply to the students.
Scores of students on Saturday blocked the old Highway road with their empty buckets to highlight the water crisis in the University hostels for the past four days.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, the students said that it had been four days since they have been facing the drinking water crisis in the university hostels. “We are forced to fetch water from outside the hostel vicinity in buckets,” a student said.
Despite the university’s promises, the problem has not been resolved as of yet, the students said, while appealing to the University management to resolve the crisis as early as possible.
