A woman has alleged that she was blackmailed by a ‘journalist’ from Anantnag and raped by several “officers”, creating a shockwave across the valley.
Identified as Nadeem Ganie who uses the byline Nadeem Nadu, as per the girl, the 27-year-old journalist deceived her into taking sedatives and later raped her, the girl alleged in her complaint submitted to the Superintendent of Police for Srinagar district.
The woman has alleged that the journalist filmed her after raping her and later blackmailed her for several months and sent her to some unnamed officers.
“I always used to tried to them understand and about humanity, but they never cared,” the woman has alleged in her complaint about a 40-45 year unnamed official, to who Nadeem Nadu had sent her.
A copy of the complaint, accessed by The Kashmiriyat, states that the accused Journalist also tried to send her to two unnamed “officials.”

To the Superintendent of Police Cyber Crime Sgr Kashmir Subject Complaint against Nadeem Nadu (Journalist from Anantnag) for mental sexual harassment by the accused.
With due respect I (Name with held) working as an ……. I do hereby solemnly declare and affirm as in 2020. I was pursuing my degree in central university of Kashmir Ganderbal.
Busy with my end semester it was the year of lockdown due to Covid finally in the month of July I went to university for preparation I was the follower of Nadeem Nadu news group on whatsaap. There I saw that there is an announcement he wrote a massage if anybody needs help personally then they can text me on my number me will do our best to some people.(9419042221). One of my classmates called me and said that from tomorrow, 12th July (2020) lock down will be held in the whole Kashmir for 3 months, and no vehicle will be allowed to move.
That time I got so scared because my family was out of station and only my younger brother was there in home. I saw Nadeem Nadu’s text message on his news group about help in whatsapp, so I start texting him in evening time (8.00 p.m). He gave me a good reply and asked so many questions like my name, age, qualification and also demand a photo of mine. I thought it is a process. Then he starts to calling me but I was busy in prayers. I told him about my problem. He said that he has some work in Srinagar tomorrow, so he will come Ganderbal personally to pick me and one more student from Srinagar. He said that he wants to help the students. I talked to my brother, he says ok its good, if there is some another student also next day (12th July) I text him at 5 O’clock, he called me on whatsapp again and again.
But I did not respond, because that was a video call. I told him for audio call on that time. I called him directly but he disconnected and start whatsapp call at 6 p.m and said that he is waiting near university gate. I went there and saw one more person with him who was having brown beard and was 25 or 26 years old.
We start travelling and they were busy with each other. My phone was not charged that time. 6.35 p.m, we were on foreshore road and suddenly the car move towards the wrong direction and said that another girl student is waiting there for me and we reached there, then the brown beard boy said that Ma’am the girl is changing her clothes, so you can come for 10 minutes and charge your phone. I went to the lobby of the house and start charging my phone. Then a watch man came with a tray and Nadeem pick that tray from door. I saw coffee and pakodas. They insist me and when I eat those pakodas I feel dizziness. After some time, when I open my eyes I was lying on the bed with a pain in my body and I start moving my arm so that I can find my watch and it was 8.00 p.m.
I got shocked that I was unconscious from last 70 minutes. I saw my clothes near bed and I was naked that time I realize that I have been brutally raped. This was not easy for me. Nadeem came and said, Are you alright sexy and start laughing. He dropped at 10 O’clock. That time he said, (Aani tumhari Marzi sai tha, ab aagai mai decide karu ga). At 10.15 p.m, he start video calling me again and again. I told him that I don’t want to talk, but then he send a picture of mine without clothes.
He start talking dirty about me and ordered me to open clothes. I was shocked, alone and scared. That time I though this is my last day of life. But he said, if you even try to commit suicide, then I will bang your family and no body can save them. I told him, that I will file a complaint, he said,(Mujhe ye Dhamki matt dow, peon se lai kai PM tk sb mairi Jaib mai hain, ulta faso gi aur saray officers suggestion laitai hain) Then he said OK, pay me 5 lakh, I will delete everything. I was having no option. I was not able to share this with anyone. He was continuously blackmailing me and I lost my paper also. Then he start video calling and again ordered me to open clothes. He also said, that on 15th July, reach at Khanabal sharp 10 O’clock.
My friend who was with me last time will pick you. You have to meet with a special person, otherwise I will disclose you. I do the same on 15th, the brown beard boy came and pick me from khanabal then we went to the same place. There was on officer who was approx. 40-45 years old, he start harassing me and then throw me out. I always used to make them understand about humanity, but they never cares.
In the month August, whenever he wants he used to video-call and then start doing dirty. On 28th September, he text me and I was in wave mall with my friends. He said he is waiting in café with 2 persons who are high level officers. Then he again start blackmailing, he said that if I will not go there, then he will share everything with them. I start begging him. I went there and he said you have 2 options. One option is you have to spent 2 nights with the 2 person, they will help me and give me the golden opportunity of a reasonable job with a healthy salary. 2nd option is , you have to pay me 2 lakh. I choose 2nd option. I went to Kashmir next day, and I gave him my gold which was the whole saving of my family for me. (Including 5 coins, 01 bangle and 2 rings). Then he was continuously torturing me by video-calls.
I was helpless and I was not having any other option. After some time, when I heard a news about his marriage, it was 5th December when I came to know about this. I text him, but from his side, his wife starts giving me replies. I told her everything in nut shell, but she starts blaming me and said, ‘My husband is a diamond, every officer respects him and follows him. I tried a lot but she didn’t understand, finally, it was 13th December, Sunday and I was in Ganderbal. He calls me on whatsapp and I got scared again. I didn’t receive his call. Then he said to meet me in Dargah at sharp 12 O’clock.. He said he is busy with his marriage now and then promised that he will delete ever thing. I went there and he deleted everything. But I told him that, You have make my life hell. You have done every bad thing with me. I have been been raped by you and your so called officers. Now I am nothing. I have lost my everything especially my future. I tried to commit suicide more than five times. You are responsible for everything. Now I want to say, I believe that Government and officers will look into it. I believe in justice he has ruined my life. I believe there are still some officers who have humanity otherwise every officer is in the pocket of Nadeem Nadu, as per his words are concerned. I am having some screen shots and pics in my pen drive, in which he is blackmailing me.
