Anantnag militant who had crossed LoC in 2018 among two killed in Srinagar encounter, says Police

The Jammu Kashmir police on Monday night said that two militants have been killed during the encounter that broke out between militants and Government forces in the Bemina area of Srinagar in central Kashmir.

“Two #terrorists of proscribed terror outfit LeT neutralised by Srinagar Police in a swift #encounter in Bemina area of #Srinagar. One policeman also received minor injury,” Jammu Kashmir Police Tweeted quoting their IGP.

As per initial reports, the Jammu Kashmir Police has identified one of the slain as Abdullah Goujri, resident of Faisalabad, Pakistan.

The Jammu Kashmir Police identified the second slain militant as Adil Hussain Mir, a resident of Pahalgam area in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

As per police records, he crossed over to Pakistan in 2018 on visit VISA from Wagah, Police said, adding, “This was the same group of militants, who escaped from #Sopore #encounter. We have been tracking their movement.”
