Punjab and Jammu Kashmir Police have, in a joint operation, arrested another B Tech student studying in Jallandhar, from Awantipora in Pulwama district of South Kashmir and taken him to Jallandhar for sustained interrogation along with four already arrested students-cum-militants there.
With this, total number of Kashmiri students arrested for creating network of Ansar Gazbat-ul-Hind of Zakir Moosa in Jallandhar district of Punjab, has gone up to five.
Police sources identified the militant arrested today from Awantipora as Danish Rehman Sofi son of Abdul Rehman Sofi, a resident of Awantipora. He was produced in a court, which granted his remand to Punjab Police till October 22.
A police personnel, seeking anonymity, said, Danish shares good relations with the AGH head Zakir Rashid Bhat (also known as Zakir Musa) and had knowledge about the activities of the arrested students.
