Jammu Kashmir reported a major spike as 1966 persons tested positive for covid-19 in the last 24 hours, while five deaths have been reported across the region, officials said on Sunday.
889 out of these cases fresh cases were reported from the Jammu division and 1077 from Kashmir, an official told The Kashmiriyat.
On Thursday, the number of omicron cases reached to 23 in Jammu Kashmir.
271 patients recovered in Jammu Kashmir on Thursday- 153 from Jammu Division and 118 from Kashmir Division.
Giving district-wise details of the fresh cases, the officials said that Srinagar reported the highest 416 cases, Baramulla 311, Budgam 159, Pulwama 12, Kupwara 26, Anantnag 39, Bandipora 53, Ganderbal 7, Kulgam 52, Shopian 2.
In Jammu division, Jammu district reported the highest with 434 cases.
