The elections hold particular importance as they follow a decade-long gap, with the revocation of Article 370 in 2019 still fresh in public memory.

Many voters, including those in Shopian, are eager to cast their ballots in hopes of electing representatives who will address local concerns related to governance, development, and security.

Despite challenges, such as the food crisis and reduced rice allotments, which have sparked protests in various areas, voters remain determined to make their voices heard.

As the day progresses, voter participation is expected to increase further as residents make their way to polling stations, hopeful for a shift in the political landscape of Jammu Kashmir.
