Bar association demands impartial probe by sitting high court judge into killings in Hyderpora encounter

The Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association Srinagar on Tuesday condemned the broad day killing of Dr. Mudasir Gull and prominent trader Altaf Ahmad in an encounter in Hyderpora area of Srinagar yesterday evening.

In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Bar said that it is deeply concerned about the pre-determined pattern of killing of civilians either by the security agencies or by the militants.

“It is a matter of grave concern that life and liberty of the civilians has been made worst causality in Kashmir.”

As per the statement, Bar called for an independent and impartial probe by a sitting High Court Judge in the unarmed civilian killings in the Hyderpora. “The identity of other two killings in the alleged gunfight deserves to be disclosed by the administration.”

Bar Association also expressed heartfelt condolences and solidarity with the bereaved families. (KNS)
