A woman was mauled to death by a bear in the Kokernag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday, an elderly woman named Zeba Banoo wife of Abdul Rahman Chopan, a resident of Bathipora area in Kokernag’s Godal area was attacked by a bear injuring her critically.
Zeba was rushed to the SDH Kokernag, where the doctors declared her brought dead on arrival.
An official confirming the incident to The Kashmiriyat said that after medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased woman will be handed over to her relatives for last rites.
