BJP Leader Arrested in Ganderbal Kashmir for ‘Trespassing’Graveyard Land

A Jammu Kashmir police team of Police Station Kangan, headed by station Incharge, SI Abdul Rashid Mir on Wednesday arrested BJP leader who was wanted in case FIR No. 70/2020; dated 08/09/2020 under section 295A and 297 of IPC.

An Official told The Kasshmiriyat that BJP leader Ghulam Qadir of Nunar had arrived along with his PSOs and a JCB machine in Kijpora village on Tuesday and tried to forcibly make a path in the middle of a local graveyard.

Speaking to The Kasshmiriyat the locals alleged that the said leader tried to create fear among the poor villagers with the help of his personal security officials and with the nexus of land mafia, made JCB to create a pathway to the inaccessible land lying way behind the graveyard.

Meanwhile locals assembled and held strong protest against the BJP and the said leader, that made him to escape from the spot.

However, locals informed police and Tehsildar Kangan after which the JCB was seized and an FIR in connection with Trespassing on burial places (Sec 297 IPC) and deliberate and malicious intention of outraging the religious feeling of any class of citizens of India (Sec 295-A) was lodged in police station Kangan.

Reacting to the incident, BJP media Incharge and spokesperson J&K, Altaf Thakur has asked for apology to Kijpara villagers and assured that strict action will be taken against the accused on party level.

Thakur said that his party always stands with the people and their religious sentiments.
