Bodies of two minor girls recovered day after drowning in Poonch

The Bodies of two minor girls, who drowned while taking a bath in the Mandheri River near Dhaki Bridge in the Poonch district, were recovered on Sunday.

The girls along with a 9-year-old boy had drowned in the river yesterday evening. However, rescuers were able to evacuate the boy, Azhar, in time.

After hectic efforts bodies of two girls, Rifat Bi daughter of Sarfaraz and Aliya Bi daughter of Liyaqat Khan were recovered by the rescuers comprising policemen, civilians, and army personnel.

A police officer told GNS that the bodies were recovered near Chajjala village, 5 km from Mendhar town. (GNS)
